The IRB Sevens World Series is firmly established as a key series of events on the global sporting calendar. 37 countries competed in one or more series tournaments during the 2005-06 season.
Last season’s IRB Sevens World Series attracted crowds in excess of 250,000, while the coverage of the series on television, including the IRB’s weekly show Total Rugby, experienced significant expansion, reaching upwards of 180 million homes in 135 countries through 29 broadcasters in 10 languages.
An announcement confirming the full 2006-07 IRB Sevens World Series schedule will be made later this month.
