The Candidature Procedure and Questionnaire is structured in three parts: Part 1 outlines what is required of a Candidate City during the second phase of the bid process. It contains procedures, rules and deadlines to be respected by Candidate Cities;
Part 2 contains the detailed questionnaire which provides the structure of the Candidature File to be submitted to the IOC and which will form the basis for a technical analysis of each city’s project;
Part 3 contains precise instructions on the presentation of a Candidate City’s submission to the IOC.
The selection of Sochi, Salzburg and PyeongChang on 22 June 2006 by the IOC Executive Board was based on the report of the IOC Candidature Acceptance Working Group which consisted of a detailed assessment of each city’s ability to organise the Olympic Winter Games.
