Ramon Calderon is claiming victory in Real Madrid’s presidential election but the outcome remains uncertain because of confusion over the legitimacy of postal votes.
Calderon, a former director of the world’s richest club, was yesterday claiming victory over Juan Palacios and three other candidates in the battle for the votes of some 55,000 club members.
One of the five candidates, Juan Miguel Villar Mir, announced he would challenge the result to ensure votes sent by post were included in the poll.
