ITV beat off rival bidders to secure the package for a three-year term.
ITV will utilise all its distribution methods including primary channel ITV1 and digital channel ITV4 to broadcast all matches and highlights every match-day from the quarter-finals onwards, thus ensuring wide exposure of the competition.
It will also have the rights to show the UEFA Super Cup in 2006, 2007 and 2008 and currently shared Champions League coverage with pay-TV platform Sky.
UEFA chief executive Lars-Christer Olsson said: “UEFA is delighted to continue our long partnership with ITV and welcomes the broadcaster's dedication to developing the competition in the crucial UK market.”
The deal was brokered via UEFA’s agent, TEAM Marketing.
UK commercial network ITV has won the exclusive broadcast rights to show the UEFA Cup quarter-finals, semi-finals and final between 2006 and 2009.
