NBA EXTENDS SPANISH TV DEAL

The NBA has confirmed Spanish broadcast partner Sogecable has extended its TV deal.

As part of the deal to carry NBA games and programming, Cuatro, Sogecable’s free-to-air station, will be providing live prime time coverage of October’s NBA Europe Live, presented by EA Sports, as part of a multi-year renewal agreement.

Sogecable will broadcast NBA games and programming on all of their assets including Cuatro, Spain’s leading pay television channel Canal+ and Digital+, its digital satellite television platform.

Cuatro will broadcast one NBA game per week through the play-offs and air NBA highlights and news show NBA Action.

Canal+ will air two games per week throughout the season as well as the finals live.

Digital+ will carry one live game per day on Canal+ Deporte 2, as part of an NBA TV branded block. NBA TV is the league’s 24-hour network.

Said Melcior Soler, director of sports acquisitions for Sogecable: “We are very happy to renew our commitment to our NBA fans and to continue our long-term partnership with one of the most prestigious sports leagues in the world.”
