COE UNVEILS 2012 SAILING UPGRADE

Organisers of the London 2012 Olympic Games have unveiled a multi-million dollar revamp to the sailing academy on the south coast hosting part of the event.

Sebastian Coe, who is spearheading the 2012 plans, confirmed the changes to the Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy this week.

The Olympic Delivery Authority confirmed the improvements would run into several million pounds, with work set to be concluded in time for test events to be staged in 2010.

Coe, London 2012 organising committee chairman, said: “This will create a stunning amphitheatre for Olympic sailing teams and spectators.”
