SCHUMACHER STAYS AS GPDA DIRECTOR

Formula One race ace Michael Schumacher has kept his position as director of the Grand Prix Drivers’ Association, despite the row over his driving tactics during the Monaco GP.

The drivers met prior to the weekend’s race at Silverstone, and saw a ‘clearing of the air’ which ensures Schumacher continues his key role in the organisation.
David Coulthard, himself a GPDA director, explained: “There was a bit of tension to start with, but it has all been cleared up.
“Everyone is unanimous in that we are together and that we want to move forward, and Michael is a major player in that.”
