BBC TO BEAM WORLD CUP LIVE ON WEB

Just a day after the BBC revealed its coverage this summer of tennis Grand Slam Wimbledon would be broadcast live on its website, it has now confirmed its FIFA World Cup coverage will also be shown online.

It will make all the games it is broadcasting during the tournament available to UK-based broadband users and will, like with the tennis, mirror its terrestrial coverage.
The BBC’s head of sport Roger Mosey said: “The World Cup on broadband is our biggest commitment yet to bringing people major events where and when they want them.”
The BBC is sharing conventional TV rights to the World Cup with rival commercial network ITV.
