The Russian president said the resort city should support in the bid should go hand in hand with provision of sporting facilities in Sochi.
Putin said: “We have nothing similar from the point of view of the climate and infrastructure. Of course, we should support Sochi as a candidate for 2014, but this is also a struggle for development of sport and recreation, for a place unique for our country.”
Vladimir Putin has given the presidential seal of approval to Russian city Sochi’s bid to host the Winter Olympic Games in 2014.
