The broadband video will be made available to all UK web users and will mirror terrestrial and interactive coverage the BBC will show on conventional TV.
A brief three-minute highlights package of each day’s play will be accessible to broadband users globally.
The BBC has not been slow to utilise its rights package via its online offering – and carried extensive live coverage of the Winter Olympic Games earlier this year.
Said Barbara Slater, BBC head of general sports: "This is an exciting opportunity and will ensure Wimbledon reaches a far wider audience than before.
"The live streaming coverage will make one of the biggest sporting events in the world available to broadband users in the UK."
