Reports on some newswires suggest a key discussion point was the possibility of creating a ‘wider international group’ to represent the interests of the world’s top clubs.
The G14 has become something of a thorn in the side of governing bodies UEFA and FIFA – and is currently embroiled in a legal case which could force clubs to be compensated if players are injured on international duty.
Dozens of the biggest soccer clubs from around the world are reported to have attended a meeting hosted by European pressure group the G14 yesterday which could see the organisation go global.
