Twins’ chiefs finally saw state lawmakers approve a financing plan for the $520m ballpark.
The new venue will be primarily funded by taxpayers, with the remainder - $130m – from the pocket of Twins owner Carl Pohlad.
If all now goes to plan, the Twins will hope to get the 2010 season underway in the new 42,000-seater venue.
The Twins currently play at the Metrodome.
