London-based Global Sponsors conducted the survey from purchasers of sponsorship rights within Fortune 500 companies - a ranking of the top 500 US public corporations, based on gross revenue.
Global Sponsors’ founder Michael Stirling said: “Our clients recognise the opportunity Brazil’s style of play and passion this brings and want to connect with it.”
The top ten ‘most attractive’ companies to sponsors are: 1. Brazil 2. France 3. England 4. Portugal 5. Italy 6. Spain 7. Argentina 8. South Korea 9. Netherlands 10. Ghana.
Surprisingly Germany and the US were both missing.
Stirling explained: “Both of those national teams are undoubtedly powerful platforms, but their attraction to the citizens of the world doesn't extend as well outside of their own national boundaries.”
It will come as little surprise to most, but Brazil’s soccer team is the most commercially attractive for corporate sponsorship to play at next month’s FIFA World Cup, according to a survey conducted by a sports marketing company.
