It has appointed the Ulster Rugby Union and the city of Belfast as tournament host for the event which features 24 teams in a three-week tournament getting underway on April 4.
IRB chairman Dr Syd Millar, said: “Ireland has a rich rugby heritage and I am sure that the tournament will generate a great deal of excitement and interest throughout the city and the wider rugby community.”
Rugby world governing body the IRB has confirmed Ireland will host the 2007 IRB Under-19 World Championship.
