Italian soccer has been gripped by match-fixing allegations which has already seen the FIGC’s top two officials resign – president Franco Carraro and vice-president Innocenzo Mazzini - and the entire board of Serie A champions Juventus quit.
Guido Rossi, Italy’s former stock market regulator has been put in temporary control of the FIGC – on an initial six-month deal.
He has vowed to clean up the sport and get it back on track.
He said: “We need rules that will be a deterrent and with serious sanctions.”
