ARSENAL WAVE FAREWELL TO HIGHBURY

English Premier League soccer club Arsenal waved farewell to their home ground Highbury in style yesterday.

In front of a full house, the London team beat opponents Wigan Athletic 4-2 and secured a place in next season’s lucrative Champions League at the expense of arch-rivals Tottenham Hotspur.
To cap it all, captain and the club’s all-time top goalscorer, Thierry Henry, scored a hat-trick.
Arsenal have played at Highbury since 1913. Next season they will move to nearby Ashburton Grove where they will play at the new £375m, 60,000-seat Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal agreed a £100m sponsorship deal with the airline to name the new venue for the next 15 years, in addition to becoming the new club’s shirt sponsor.
