FEI SADDLE UP FOR NEW CHALLENGE

The International Equestrian Federation (FEI) has agreed a significant new deal with the International Paralympic Committee (IPC).

The two have signed an agreement for the transfer of governance of equestrian for persons with a disability from the IPC to FEI.

The transfer ceremony took place at the FEI General Assembly in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, yesterday and will come into full effect on July 1.

The IPC acts as the international federation for 13 sports, one of which was equestrian.

IPC president Sir Philip Craven said: “The FEI is the first international federation to embrace a sport of the IPC as a full part of its organisation. The IPC is committed to creating true partnerships in sport and we believe that we have found a true partner in the FEI. We are confident that they will make riders and drivers with a disability feel at home in their organisation.”
