MASSEY NEW OCTAGON UK CHIEF

Marketing giant Octagon has confirmed Coca-Cola executive Nick Massey is to take over as managing director of its UK operation – Octagon UK.

Reporting to Neill Duffy, president of Octagon EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Asia), Massey previously held commercial and strategic positions at General Electric Company before moving to the marketing group of business consultants, PA Consulting Group.
From PA, he joined Coca-Cola & Schweppes Beverages in 1992, a move which ultimately led him to Coca-Cola Enterprises in the US. He served as vice president of sales and marketing before moving to the UK with Coca-Cola Enterprises.
Duffy said: “Consumers are exercising greater control over when, where and how they receive brand and product messages. Nick’s experience is ideally suited to identifying our clients’ needs and marshalling Octagon’s resources to create and implement programmes that tap into the passion consumers have for sports and entertainment.”
Massey added: “Having worked on the brand side, I appreciate the emphasis clients place on added value. At Octagon, I believe we are particularly well-placed to provide this.”
Octagon also announced the addition of two other staff members. Former ISL and Puma executive Michel Branet has joined the agency as vice president, business development for Octagon EMEA and will be based in London.
Meanwhile, Natasha Vanoye from Sports Marketing Surveys has joined Octagon EMEA as research director EMEA. She will be based in Brussels.
