As part of the partnership, Spencer, 25, will carry Racing UK branding on his silks and private plane throughout the 2006 season and will feature in a national press advertising and direct marketing campaign.
The 2005 flat season champion jockey will also undertake a series of personal appearances including customer racing days and media events, as well as hosting a personal video diary and providing exclusive content for the Racing UK channel and website.
The partnership with Jamie follows a successful PR and marketing campaign with champion jockey, Tony McCoy, during the past jumps season.
Racing UK, with almost 39,000 subscribers, is a ground-breaking venture by a sports rights holder to own and market its media rights. Launched in May 2004, the channel offers exclusive live coverage of over 600 meetings in the horse racing calendar - including prestigious events such as Glorious Goodwood, The Cheltenham Festival, Aintree and the Epsom Derby. Racing UK is wholly owned by 31 of the UK’s top racecourses.
The direct marketing campaign will use Spencer as the face of the Racing UK Club to drive subscriptions. The club entitles subscribers, both domestic and commercial, to tickets to each of the 30 Racing UK Club days per year at the UK’s top racecourses. This campaign will also incorporate free trial offers with commercial chains, advertising in trade press and presence at trade shows.
Racing UK are also working with leading corporate and consumer PR agency, Pitch PR, and Racing PR specialists, Sportsguide, to devise a high impact PR campaign around the tie-up.
