FIA World Rally Commission President Shekhar Mehta has died at the age of 60 in London.

The Kenyan, who won the Safari Rally five times between 1973 and 1982, died on Wednesday after falling ill on last weekend's Rally of Corsica.

Mehta had only been re-appointed as president of the FIA's World Rally Championship commission last month after Jacques Regis stepped down.
An FIA statement said: "Shekhar's experience, commitment, sense of honour and humour will be greatly missed."
