POLSAT OUT OF CHAMPIONS LEAGUE PICTURE IN POLAND

State free-to-air broadcaster TVP and pay operator ITI will screen the UEFA Champions League from 2006-09 under the terms of a new deal which ends the current pay TV arrangement with Polsat.

TVP will broadcast one live game each week as well as highlights and magazine shows. ITI has the rights to all live matches as well as highlights.

“On one hand we’re disappointed that Polsat won’t be continuing as a partner beyond 2006 but we are looking forward to working with TVP and ITI who will ensure that the UEFA Champions League will continue to flourish ion Poland,” said UEFA CEO Lars –Christer Olsson.
