PMP JOINS HONG KONG STADIUM PROJECT

Management consultancy PMP has been appointed as part of a team led by Evans & Peck (Hong Kong) to advise the Home Affairs Bureau of the Government of Hong Kong on the feasibility of a proposed stadium complex.

The multi-purpose stadium complex at Kai Tak is likely to include a 45,000-seat main stadium with retractable roof, secondary athletics stadium, indoor arena and associated commercial leisure.

The stadium forms part of a proposed major waterfront redevelopment of the 450ha former airport site, which will include a cruise terminal, Metro Park, residential and office accommodation.

The study team will assess the financial case for the stadium complex and determine the long-term sustainability of the development.

PMP will review current event patterns in Hong Kong, develop a revenue model based on an event schedule and provide comment on the proposed facility mix.
