BANK HIRES EXEC FOR NASCAR ROLE

The Bank of America has recruited a top sponsorship executive to co-ordinate its NASCAR investment.

Jill Gregory has joined the company as senior vice president and strategic marketing executive for the bank's NASCAR sponsorship programmes.

In this new role, Gregory will oversee strategy and activation development for the company's motorsports sponsorship platform, which includes title sponsorship of the Bank of America 500 and the Neighborhood Excellence 400 presented by Bank of America, as well as sponsorships at ten tracks throughout the country.

Previously a director of sponsorship and sports marketing at NASCAR title sponsors Sprint Nextel, Gregory will report to Ray Bednar – hired last month to oversee the bank’s sports portfolio.

The bank has ploughed cash into NASCAR, the NFL, PGA Tour and US Olympic Committee.
Bednar said: “Jill has a wealth of experience in the NASCAR space, and is well-respected by the racing industry's leaders, teams and agencies. She will be instrumental in developing and executing a well-integrated strategy that drives solid business results from our NASCAR platform and creates exciting and unique experiences for our many customers who are racing fans.”
