The fifth round of the world championship, which takes place at Denmark’s national stadium PARKEN on June 24, will be known as the FIM Dansk Metal Danish Speedway Grand Prix.
John Postlethwaite, chief executive of BSI, rights holders of the Grand Prix Series, said: “The Grand Prix at PARKEN is Denmark’s biggest motorsport event and is broadcast live on dk4 with highlights on DR and generates great media coverage.”
Claus Jensen, Dansk Metal secretary, said: “Sponsorship is a vital tool for us as it creates awareness of the union and its educational benefits. It is no secret that many people involved in speedway have a mechanical engineering background and many of the Danish riders and mechanics are already members of the union.
“By being involved in this world championship event we can encourage more people to join Dansk Metal and encourage them to learn the skills necessary to forge a career in mechanical engineering.”
