Sohu.com Inc. and SMGBB.cn, a broadband service provider under the Shanghai Media Group (SMG), will deliver the service.
SMGBB already had an exclusive license deal with FIFA for coverage of the tournament via broadband video-on-demand in mainland China.
The website will also provide video, updated news reports and game results for the World Cup.
Meanwhile, Sohu will also launch some mobile value-added services for the World Cup, which enables subscribers to receive game information, time schedules, and pictures via mobile phone, according to the Interfax China News Agency.
The broadcasts are estimated to reach an Internet audience of more than 10 million.
The service is looking to profit from online advertisement and wireless value-added services business.
