The digital channel's sub-licensing deal starts with England's first game against Paraguay on June 10 and ends with the World Cup final.
ITV1, which jointly owns the TV rights with the BBC, will show the remaining 33 to 35 live matches. It has also asked for permission from Ofcom to show four of these on ITV2/ITV4.
In total, G2 will air more than 200 hours of World Cup-related content including pre-match programming as well as non-exclusive highlights coverage of all 64 matches as part of a daily highlights show.
The development follows a change in the law since the last World Cup that obliged terrestrial broadcasters to offer 'protected events' to at least one digital broadcaster.
UKTV is owned 50/50 by the BBC and cable operator Telewest.
