STADIUM GETS EASY CREDIT

German loan product, easyCredit, has secured naming rights for the Franken Stadium, home to 1. FC Nuremberg.

The arena will be known as easyCredit Stadium from now until June 30, 2011, with an option to extend for another four years.

Consumer bank norisbank is behind the easyCredit product.

Klaus Daedelow, CEO of the Franken Stadium Nuremberg operating company, said: “In finding a new name for the stadium, we and norisbank were especially careful to ensure that the term ‘stadium’ continues to be part of the name. Thanks to norisbank, the stadium’s appeal for guests can be assured and enhanced in the future as well.”

Sportfive brokered the contract but the financial details were not disclosed.

”The easyCredit Stadium will further enhance the appeal of Germany’s best-known brand-name article of its kind,” said Theophil Graband, norisbank CEO.

“However, it also serves as a thank-you to our hometown of Nuremberg, where a large part of our workforce lives and works. We have witnessed an unparalleled success story here for years.”

Thomas RC6ttgermann, CEO of the SPORTFIVE GmbH & Co. KG, is also very pleased at having brought the contract parties together: “The allocation of the naming rights holds great advantages for everyone involved.

"For the sponsor, it creates a rapid and fundamental increase in awareness and vast reach throughout the media. The club, the operating company and the sponsor also benefit from each other’s images."
