It is the first time the Sports Journalists’ Association has given an award to a television programme.
Sunset+Vine has just won a four-year contract to produce the UK’s only terrestrial coverage of Test cricket for free-to-air channel Five, starting later this year.
Tinopolis executive chairman Ron Jones has announced that Jeff Foulser would remain as CEO of Sunset+Vine following the Tinopolis’s acquisition of The Television Corporation.
Sunset+Vine’s cricket team has now won 21 awards for its coverage of the sport.
Giving the award, the Sports Journalists’ Association said Sunset+Vine’s coverage “provided commentary and analysis that was knowledgeable and informative, pictures that were stunning and memories that will last forever. It will be missed because it really did change the way we watched cricket - and without a satellite dish in sight.”
