The world’s leading multinational, multimedia sports entertainment company, will deliver the channel on the BSkyB platform from March 13.
It will be available 24/7 and broadcasts some of the greatest sporting moments of all time.
There is a mix of all-time classic highlights, matches, movies, interviews, profiles and documentaries. It aims to link fans by bridging the gap between yesterday and today’s sporting action with interviews, analysis and original commentary, as well as complementing live domestic and international sporting events.
“ESPN Classic will be all about the great sport that never dies; it will be all about being exclusively not live, it will be simply about “Dead Good Sport” according to Roch Pellerin, managing director, ESPN Classic.
Lynne Frank, managing director, Europe, Middle East & Africa for ESPN International said: “The launch of ESPN Classic on Sky underlines our commitment to deliver the very best in sports entertainment to as wide an audience as possible and to continue to expand the ESPN brand around the world.”
Since its French launch in 2002, ESPN Classic now reaches more than 16 million subscribers in over 40 countries.
