TELLEM QUITS SFX

Leading US sports agent Arn Tellem has split from SFX and sold his company to the Wasserman Media Group.

Tellem will take his clients and agency staff to WMG, and become president of WMG Management, as well as a member of the company's newly-formed executive committee.

Tellem, who was chief executive officer of the SFX Sports Group prior to the deal, represents a host of top basketball and baseball players, and over two decades has struck some of the biggest contracts in NBA and MLB history.
Clients include baseball’s Jason Giambi, Hideki Matsui, Nomar Garciaparra, Chase Utley and Barry Zito; and NBA stars including Tracy McGrady, Jermaine O'Neal and Pau Gasol.
The acquisition builds on WMG's strategy to focus on developing high quality sports and media properties in the management, marketing and content categories on a global basis.
Casey Wasserman, chairman and CEO of the Wasserman Media Group, said: “Arn is one of the most respected leaders in the sports industry and I am excited to have him as part of WMG. We remain committed to attracting and cultivating the most talented and accomplished individuals, and Arn and his team represent the best of those qualities.”
