Mudd, who comes to Champ Car after serving at the SCCA as its vice-president of marketing for the past four seasons covering the SCCA and its subsidiary SCCA Pro Racing, will report to executive vice president of sales and marketing Will Wilson.
He took over as the acting president of SCCA Pro Racing in November, overseeing the day-to-day operation of the sanctioning body which includes the SPEED World Challenge Championship.
Mudd was the former general manager of Lime Rock Park in Lakeville, Connecticut and also served as the executive director of the Sprint PCS Grand Prix of Minnesota. He began his motorsport career with the original Denver Grand Prix.
