EUROSPORT IN LEAGUE WITH BUSINESS ELITE

Eurosport is the most watched international channel among the top 20 per cent of income earners across Europe, according to research.

Eurosport is said to be viewed by 4.3 million "upmarket" Europeans (11 per cent) each day, and 12.6 million a week (32 per cent).

According to the broadcaster, the latest data release from EMS Winter ’05 shows that "sport remains a uniquely effective environment in reaching Europe's affluent elite".

It claims that since data released last summer, Eurosport has increased its weekly reach by 250,000 upmarket viewers, including 36,000 CEOs - the biggest increase of any international channel.

It is hoping for further gains in 2006, with the Winter Olympics and FIFA World Cup, as well as regular events such as the Tennis Grand Slams, Tour de France, MotoGP and USPGA golf.
