TWI TARGETS GROWTH WITH NEW APPOINTMENT

TWI is looking to strengthen its presence in Latin America, the Caribbean and US Hispanic markets by moving a key senior executive to Miami.

Felix Alvarez-Garmon, TWI's senior vice president for operations across those regions, is based in Florida, effective immediately, and will continue to be responsible for sales and for developing new production opportunities in the region.

The move is part of TWI's growth strategy for the future as the company, already the world's largest independent producer and distributor of sports programming, seeks to consolidate its position as a market leader.

Alvarez-Garmon, a Spanish national who was born in Buenos Aires, will focus not just on sports, but also explore factual and entertainment, formats and new media opportunities across the regions.

Bill Sinrich, CEO of TWI, said: "Felix already has substantial experience of working in the region, from his involvement with SNTV, helping to set up its Latin American and US Hispanic operation in 1996, to project managing major events in Latin America for TWI.

"These are important markets for us, and growing, so re-locating Felix at the heart of the region is a natural development."

Alvarez-Garmon joined TWI in 1994 initially on the production side, including a three-year stint in Buenos Aires, before returning to London in 1999 to take up responsibility for all sales, production and operations for TWI and its affiliates, across Latin America, the Caribbean and - more recently - the US Hispanic region.
