The tournament title change is part of an existing sponsorship deal agreed in 2005 between the Lawn Tennis Association and Phones International Group, whose chairman and CEO Peter Jones, jointly owns Red Letter Days following its acquisition last summer.
The company lays on innovative experiences designed to provide unforgettable gifts.
Patrick Hughesman, tournament director for the Red Letter Days Open, said: “The Nottingham tournament is one of the highest profile tennis events in Great Britain and provides a fantastic opportunity to get closer to the action and see some of the world’s finest athletes on court."
Stuart Henry, managing director of Red Letter Days, said: “The Red Letter Days Open allows the public to experience ATP tennis up close and we are looking forward to working with the LTA to create a series of unique and exciting tennis experiences that we will launch over the coming months.”
More than 22,000 people passed through the gates of The City of Nottingham Tennis Centre over the six days of the tournament last year, with more spectators expected this year.
The grass court tournament takes place from June 19-24, 2006.
