The event will be called ONGC Cup National Football League. The competition kicks off on January 10, 2006 and will be played in Kolkatta, Goa, Mumbai, Delhi and Ludhiana.
Mr. Priyaranjan Dasmunshi, president All India Football Federation said: “With the matches of National Football League being played under floodlights, combined with world class telecast, it will provide unique television viewing experience to audiences.”
Total prize money is Rs 1.10 crores.
Mr. Himanshu Mody, business head Zee Sports, said: “The value for sponsors in Indian Football has entered a new level as has become obvious with the strong response we have received from the corporates who want to be associated with sports.
"We have put in lot of hard work to present Indian Football in a high quality format at viewer friendly times with in depth analysis. We are sure that all this along with Zee Sports distribution strength will bring lot of value to the sponsors.”
Out of the total 90 matches, Zee Sports will telecast around 45 live and exclusive from January 10, 2006.
A world-class production team is being flown in from around the world. The telecast will include preview and review shows, half-time match analysis and various studio programming.
The coverage will involve minimum of 12 cameras, more replays, international commentators and a new graphic look plus studio programming and build-up featuring current players, managers and other experts.
