BSKYB CHIEF TO QUIT

Tagged in &

Long serving chief operating officer Richard Freudenstein is to leave BSkyB.

Whilst a blow to the satellite broadcaster's senior management team, Freudenstein will stay on for up to seven months and will be closely involved in negotiations for the next Premier League rights deal, expected to begin in the Spring.

The 40-year-old will be returning to his native Australia.

He was tipped as a potential successor to James Murdoch and joined Sky in 1999 from Australian pay-TV platform Foxtel, where he was director of operations and business development.
