Following the success of the inaugural event in 2005, event organisers Fast Track and the British Paralympic Association - with key partners IPC, Visa, BBC, UK Sport, Manchester City Council and Northwest Regional Development Agency (NWDA) - have decided to extend competition by two days.
It is the global centrepiece for multi-sport performance for athletes with a disability.
In 2006, four sports will again form the programme of events: Athletics, cycling (track), swimming and wheelchair basketball.
BBC Television will increase it's coverage and will broadcast live from the event, which will be aired on Sunday Grandstand on BBC2.
BBC Worldwide will again act as global distribution partners for the event and will produce and distribute a highlights programme.
In 2005, 154 countries aired the highlights programme.
Dave Gordon, BBC Sport head of major events, said: "BBC Sport has made a commitment to showcase the best of Olympic and Paralympic sport in the run-up to London 2012 and we are in no doubt that the Visa Paralympic World Cup is a key part of this strategy."
