BMW Sauber has signed a four-year deal to retain oil and gas company Petronas as its main sponsor.

Petronas has backed Sauber since 1995 and BMW, who bought the Swiss team in June, will stick with the Malaysian company.

The new team makes its Formula One debut next season.

"We are building on a long-standing association between Petronas and the previous Sauber team," said BMW motorsport director Mario Theissen.
