David Higgins is the new chief executive of the Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) and will lead the construction of venues for the 2012 Games in London.

Higgins currently leads a company that redevelops and regenerates blighted land in England. He also worked in Australia in the lead-up to Sydney Games, supervising construction of Olympics venues for Lend Lease.

Lemley, from Idaho in the US, is considered one of the world’s foremost experts on construction management for major projects, reports aroundtherings.com

The next major appointment for London 2012 will be a chief executive for the organising committee, expected before the end of the year.
