IPC PRESIDENT GETS NEW FOUR-YEAR TERM

Sir Philip Craven (Great Britain) has been re-elected president of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC).

He took 103 votes out of a possible 123 at the IPC General Assembly in Beijing to secure a four-year term.

Miguel Sagarra (Spain) was elected vice-president by a majority of 70 votes.

It was the largest General Assembly to date, with more than 300 participants from 90 National Paralympic Committees, five regions, four IOSDs (International Organisations for the Disabled) and 24 sports.

A new governing board was also elected.
