When the Series takes to the Sepang International Circuit for the fifth round of the ‘World Cup of Motorsport’ this weekend (November 18-20), there will be 119 television stations representing 119 countries showing the race.
In those territories where deals are still in negotiation, A1GP has made viewing the races possible at www.a1gp.com
"My aim was for the people of each country represented by a national team to be able to watch their driver race for the pride of his nation and we have achieved that," said series founder, president and chairman, Sheikh Maktoum.
Broadcast director, Richard Dorfman, said: "We are on the verge of signing a deal for North America as we have three offers on the table, while in Japan we are in final discussions with two separate channels.
“Also after our recent involvement in Sportel we are in advanced negotiations with the remainder of our target countries."
A1GP also won the Motorsport Award at the 2005 Autocar Awards, beating the Renault F1 team that claimed both championship titles.
