The 2004-05 loss follows the previous year's profit of $4.5 million. But CA said the deficit was not as bad as originally forecast.
The Melbourne Herald Sun newspaper reports CA public affairs general manager Peter Young as saying CA's budgets worked on a four-year cycle and, with the cycle just completed, it had recorded a A$7.7million profit and still had A$20.2million in reserve.
The result follow's Australia's dominance of New Zealand, Pakistan and the West Indies in the 2004-05 season, with another financial loss predicted with the West Indies, South Africa and Sri Lanka touring this summer.
Young said the 2006-07 Ashes series would put CA back in the black.
