The championship is one of the three FIA-sanctioned car world championships, alongside Formula One and Rally.
The 10 FIA WTCC events are being held over three continents and televised by 100 TV stations worldwide. Registered manufacturers competing in the competition are Alfa Romeo, BMW, Chevrolet, Ford and SEAT.
