JETS SIGN TO REGIONAL NETWORK

NFL franchise The New York Jets have signed a three-year television deal with SportsNet New York.

The network, which starts broadcasting next April, will air more than 230 hours of Jets-related content, including in-season and off-season programming with access to players, coaches and management.

It will also work with the Jets on joint marketing programmes.

SportsNet New York, also home to the New York Mets baseball team, reaches eight million people in the tri-state area.

The network is backed by Comcast, Time Warner and Sterling Entertainment, a media company formed by the owners of the New York Mets.

It will run some 125 regular season Mets games, with plans for college basketball and football telecasts in autumn 2006.
