Swedish city Gothenburg has won the right to host the 2008 World Figure Skating Championships.
The International Skating Union also confirmed the European Championships will be held in Zagreb, Croatia, in 2007.
Among the other decisions made with regard upcoming major events, the speedskating World Sprint Championships will be held in Helsinki, Finland in 2007, while Nagano, Japan will host the single distance speedskating championships in 2008.
