CABORN IN FIFA PLEA

UK sports minister Richard Caborn will ask FIFA to boost the Football Association's ticket allocation for next summer's World Cup.

The FA stands to receive just eight per cent of tickets for any England match, to be distributed among the 25,000-strong supporters club.

Caborn believes the allocation should reflect the number of fans England will attract, amid fears many will resort to acquiring tickets on the black market.

The minister says he will write to Sepp Blatter, president of soccer's world governing body.
