After New York's failed 2012 bid, Ueberroth said USOC officials want to bid but must have assurances and will probably decide within six months whether or not to try again in 2016.
"We're looking less favorably on it at this moment," Ueberroth said. "The international game has changed for bid cities. We don't want to enter and not win or have a good chance to win.
"We don't want a city to spend a lot of money and not have a chance to win."
Ueberroth said he wants city, state and federal support assured before beginning another bid process, reports lycos.co.uk
