The West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) has been at loggerheads with the West Indies Players Association (WIPA) following WICB's sponsorship deal with Irish telecoms firm Digicel, which conflicts with personal deals the players have.
The last two tours were affected, with below-strength sides chosen.
The BBC reports that the players have now agreed to sign contracts for the Australia tour, subject to negotiations which are being conducted by the International Cricket Council (ICC) and WIPA.
When agreed, a relevant clause will be inserted into the contracts that will be binding on both parties.
If there is no agreement within 10 days an independent arbitrator will be recommended.
