Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur has announced record annual profits of £4.1million for the year ending June 30, 2005.

It recorded an increased turnover, plus a profit on player sales of £5.6million.

The results come a year after Tottenham revealed annual losses of £2.7million

An improved league finish, from 14th in 2003-04 to ninth last season, was said to have helped turnover exceed £70million for the first time - up from £66.3milllion in 2004.

The club revealed it had looked at ways of making savings, with player wages increasingly performance-related.
