TURKEY INTERNATIONAL GETS 10 MONTH BETTING BAN

The Turkish Football Federation has banned Turkey international Gokdeniz Karadeniz, who plays for the Trabzonspor club, for 10 months over his role in a betting scandal.

He was one of five players banned by the Federation's Professional Football Disciplinary Board (PFDK) over their involvement in betting on a match between Akcaabat Sebatspor and Kayserispor last season.

Akcaabat's Ogun Temizkanoglu, and Bayram Toysal and Metin Aktas - who both play for Kayserispor - were banned from playing for a year. Kocaelispor's Alisen Kandil was given an eight-month suspension.
